Whether you are preparing your home for the market or for the holidays, you are probably hustling and bustling to clean your house. However, overlooking a few small details can make your house look messier.
Here are six things that make your house look messy:
1. Open shelving in the kitchen, bathroom, or laundry room can make your house look messier if the contents of those shelves are not organized.
2. Tangled cords by the TV or computer can make your living room, bedroom, or den look messier.
3. Unmade beds are another problem. If you are in a rush to prepare for a showing or your listing photos, make sure that the beds are made.
4. Littered floors. If you have things laying around the floor, take some time to put them away.
5. Leftover laundry. We all have that chair where we store our folded laundry. However, don’t leave folded laundry out on the chair or in baskets around the house; put everything away.
6. Clear off your countertops. Put everything away! Knives, mixers, all of it. If you have things on top of your cabinets, put them away. Those things make your house look messier than you think.
Take care of these small details and your house will shine this holiday season.
I also want to take a minute to wish you a merry Christmas! I hope you enjoy your time with your family and friends.
