Winter is quickly approaching, so there’s no time like the present to make sure your home is prepared for the colder season ahead. Just a few simple home maintenance tasks can keep you warm and your home running smoothly all winter long.
First, check your doors and windows for air leaks. The last thing you want is for hot air to escape your home or for cold air to be let in. Winter air leaks are not only uncomfortable, but also lead to astronomical energy bills. Thankfully, it's relatively cheap and simple to re-seal doors and windows.
Speaking of keeping your home warm and cozy, you should also get your HVAC system checked and serviced once per year. The months leading up to winter are a perfect time to do this.

Also, if you have a fireplace, be sure to have your chimney inspected, as well. This will keep it in good repair and also reduce your risk of a house fire breaking out.
